Just checked my newsfeed, still nothing about the J6 committee offering the Secret Service agents a chance to testify. Cheney muttered something about their being "welcome" to testify but no invitation to do so was extended. If they don't ask them to testify and instead to merely say they would be welcome to do so is as vacuous as the old half-hearted promise of "let's do lunch some time."

Even if it's not a crime, it might be something that the public should know about, in the event that they ever have to decide whether to vote for Trump in the future.

That's why we used to have "news" and "journalists", or, better yet "reporters".

Y'all went to extremes to find a way to say Trump wasn't lying about the stolen election.

It's a lot easier to find accommodations here. Maybe she assumed it was the beast because the agent described it as carrying the president. Maybe the agent reported it wrong. Nothing in here impugns her honesty. She didn't testify that Trump did this, she testified that they told her he did.

And no, I'm not buying any argument that starts with an assumption that she doesn't know her own handwriting, or worse, that she doesn't know better than to claim someone else's handwriting as her own, and neither should you. What are y'all, simple. Maybe they both wrote it down.

All reasons why hearsay testimony is not allowed in court. She is testifying to what someone else told her. They could be wrong, they could be lying, she could be wrong, she could be lying.

And don't forget, the agents have said that it didn't happen at all and they never told her the story.

What is said to "reporters" is usually not said under oath, and is often said anonymously for fear of repercussions. (Those repercussions will still happen, but at least the witness has the satisfaction of having been heard under oath.)

In other words, it's political theater. That's why the "committee" is being very careful to suppress any evidence that contradicts their narrative.

Yeah, reporters have to earn a living, and not having an agenda, or working for someone with an agenda, makes that difficult.
