meh... I think the big problem with semi-auto in an active shooter situation is the ability to change magazines quickly, regardless of capacity.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Why should we expect our young men and women to not be allowed, in private life, to be able to use much less destructive weapons than what they use every day in their military service? It's already absurd enough that they can't drink alcohol but can sign up to die for their country.

What do you think about a mandatory gun safety course?

For whatever reason, our influence in that area came from the local YMCA, which taught gun safety with air rifles, then .22 rifles.

Maybe it's wherever the local "dads" wish to contribute.

So naturally, you deicded to start a boring thread to discuss a topic you claim is boring.

I think it should be 10-years with no possibility of parole, and only then does the sentence for the felony begin, so that no matter what, any crime committed with a gun will earn you 10-years minimum.

Burr proposes more than age requirement and background checks. He proposes serious psychological evaluation of people buying semi auto firearms. Did you hear what he said?

What you propose is boring since age and gun safety are irrelevant to the issue of gun massacres.

This begins to stray into the area of "guilty until proven innocent". Nobody should have to prove himself before being allowed to exercise his fundamental rights.

With regard to psychological evaluations, since psychology is a "soft" science and open to interpretation, how could you ensure the evaluation is objective? What's to stop an examiner from putting his proverbial thumb on the scale and arbitrarily denying people the right to purchase a firearm?
