The Senate on Thursday voted 53-47 to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.
Three Republican senators — Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine — joined all 48 Democrats and two independents in voting to confirm Jackson to the nation’s highest court.

In part, yes. Biden wasn't going to go pluck a single black mom out of inner city Chicago working a minimum wage job at the grocery store to become a Supreme Court justice. Here in Atlanta they did something just like that a couple decades ago. The mayor thought it would be a good idea to place an "average citizen" as the head of the transit system (MARTA).
