You can certainly understand from this cover up and the behaviour of US Special Forces as recounted in the article, why so many countries [especially Muslim] revile the USA.

Aside from the fact they usually don't bother with needing an excuse^[1], your remark is no different than someone saying that considering the behavior of Germans during the first half of the 20th century it is understandable why so many countries [especially European] revile Germany.
