In some classes it is not only appropriate to discuss politics, that is effectively what the class is covering.

It is when a calculus class turns into a half hour long monologue about OMB that is the real problem.

Why civil war is coming, these evil people just won't stop...

Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association

        Abstract

Whiteness is a condition one first acquires and then one hasa malignant, parasitic-like condition to which “white” people have a particular susceptibility. The condition is foundational, generating characteristic ways of being in one’s body, in one’s mind, and in one’s world. Parasitic Whiteness renders its hosts’ appetites voracious, insatiable, and perverse. These deformed appetites particularly target nonwhite peoples. Once established, these appetites are nearly impossible to eliminate. Effective treatment consists of a combination of psychic and social-historical interventions. Such interventions can reasonably aim only to reshape Whiteness’s infiltrated appetites—to reduce their intensity, redistribute their aims, and occasionally turn those aims toward the work of reparation. When remembered and represented, the ravages wreaked by the chronic condition can function either as warning (“never again”) or as temptation (“great again”). Memorialization alone, therefore, is no guarantee against regression. There is not yet a permanent cure.

How does something that bat-crap crazy get published in a peer review journal? One more reason not to trust Psychoanalysts. Always seemed like a bunch of quacks to me.

They may be quacks like the nut job in my OP, but they are being taken seriously in academia. And it is trickling down to lower education levels through Critical Race theory.

I don't see how any rational person (unless you're just a leftist ideologue and pretend none of this exists) can look at all this racial animosity and emphasis and not conclude this is intentionally divisive. If I didn't believe in the supernatural and its evil influences, I'd have to conclude this was some sort of conspiracy to bring about racial division in this country (maybe foreign influence?).

                yup.

That paper was as racist as heck. It's on the order of someone writing a paper claiming that black people are inferior to whites and a genetically disposed to being criminals.

I'm saying it isn't necessary. Kids should learn US and world history and derive political opinions from that. They don't need Leftist professors saying "socialism good, capitalism bad" over and over again to impressionable kids. "Political Science" is a joke.

That was my point. How is this so pervasive and having so much widespread influence in higher education unless it's: A) supernaturally influenced evil, or B) a methodical natural conspiracy? Both of which have the intention to create social animosity and divisiveness.

The only argument a person on the left has is to just downplay it like it's not really happening or not that bad... but it is.

And, as usual, there are no opinions here from our resident liberals.

I can agree with you but first I need to know what you meant by "methodical natural conspiracy," particularly the first two words, in this context.

"Natural" as in man-made as opposed to supernatural influence. Methodical as in planned out and deliberate.

A powerful/wealthy force behind it, as opposed to a natural grassroots phenomenon of self-hating white liberals. This is especially true considering how influential it is from the top down (i.e. in university and media institutions) in spite of the opposition against it (not just from the political right, but also outspoken opponents of the political left).

The powerful/wealthy force behind it is Fox News. It's in their best interest to keep conservatives frightened of imaginary threats. As long as people uncritically consume Republican propaganda, there will be activists and academics that take extreme stances out of frustration.
