That's because I talk about things I know and don't talk about things I don't know. In the case of military forces agreements between the US and other countries, I know a lot about these because I've had to live with them for the past 12 years.

So what other things do you talk about?

Ummm perhaps because Germany is centrally located in Europe and has quick access to most of Europe,by land and by air? You are aware that US military hospitals, established in Germany, saved American lives that would have been lost, if they had to be flown to the US for treatment? I also find it rather amusing how people rant about these US bases and point out how few other countries have, while apparently ignoring that other NATO allies use these bases too. My point? There's reasons these bases exist and they exist not because the US enjoy's maintaining all of these bases, but because they serve a purpose (in fact, we've closed hundreds of them over the past 25 years).

History, when dealing with topics I know a thing or two about. The US military, since I am a member of the US military. Theological views that I have some knowledge of. Aircraft and mechanics, since I kind of do work around those things. Etc.

That's just one example. Other examples included quick response times to other parts of the world. It can take 12 hours of more for an aircraft to fly from the US over to Europe (and this depends on the aircraft, fighters can't make this journey without a tanker escort and without another tanker to replace it as it approaches Europe). With bases established in other countries, they can be there much quicker. They are also used for rest points and stopping points along the way. Ships and Aircraft can't operate without friendly places to operate from and these bases give friendly places to operate from. Quicker access to medical treatment and supplies is another valid reason too. There's quite a few valid reasons for these bases to exist. As I listed above because if there wasn't, they wouldn't exist because do you know how expensive a base is to operate and maintain?

Now that the cold-war's over though, the US might want to consider reducing its military presence. Down to say 1 or 2 bases in Germany... so by 90% or so.

The ~600 military bases worldwide could be reduced to like 20. That would still allow for a couple on each continent and a half-dozen in the middle east.

Which half? He contradicts himself so much I've long given up trying to work out what he'd do. From the sounds of some of the leaks, it sounds like he has no interest in running the county and will turn the whole thing over to his VP. Working out what Pence would do is pretty easy since he's been around in politics for a while.

Oh stop, border security, immigration enforcement, tax reform, re-negotiating trade deals, school choice, rebuilding the military and the courts. He has been consistent on all these issues in the main.
