  • Why Can't Hillary Clinton Stop Lying?

I said it elsewhere, and it probably needs to be attributed to somebody famous who said it first (just let me know, and I'll do so) but Hillary belongs to that special breed of pathological liar that can only be described as "somebody who would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth, when the truth would work just as well".

Here's an article by Ron Fournier, a senior political columnist at National Journal.

He points out that, in his opinion, the Democrats put on a much better convention than the Republicans, Donald Trump is a "dangerous demagogue" and "repugnant" (I'm sure most of our liberals would agree) yet she seems INCAPABLE of NOT LYING.

In my opinion, she can't stop lying - it's who she is!

She can't stop lying because her father is the father of lies. Lying to her is like breathing. But you got to admit, it seems to work with the crowd she intends for it to work for.

And, since the MSM is in the pocket of her pant suits, she doesn't get the scrutiny or blowback that Trump gets.

Yes, she is a pathological liar. Trump is the same but even more prolific. These days he's up to 30% of his fact-checked statements being true-ish.

Both are terrible, lying, candidates, who are disqualified from office by virtue of many things. Congrats America.

The major difference, of course, is that Trump regularly gets called on it, Hillary gets defended by the MSM.

I'm guessing the media covers for her because they get the ratings when history is made of a first female POTUS. The leaders of the DNC cover for her so they can proclaim to the world that they're the party that elected the first black and first female POTUS (her abject corruption aside), which they probably hope makes up for the past racist views that tarnish their history. Her lowly supporters cover for her because.... well... that one is a total mystery to me. Lack of intelligence, naivety, gullibility...

The MSM is in bed with the political establishment and Wall St. Of course they're going to be favorable to one of their own.

However, in their defense somewhat, as much as I hate the MSM, they do tend to love the shock value of anti-Hillary stories and can get pretty enthusiastically against Hillary at times. They are hamstrung a bit because their lawyers tell them never to state that a person is a "liar" or "was lying" on screen in case they get sued for it, so they have to talk around the point by saying "Hillary misspoke" or asking "was Hillary being truthful?" repeatedly without directly answering the question, or saying that they "invite viewers to draw their own conclusions" which is code for "they lied". And they seem to love the ratings boosts that Trump coverage gives, so they give him pretty much non-stop coverage (certainly much of it is negative, but that tends to not matter in politics so much as just getting coverage).

                Examples?

Sure - the old "doesn't matter what you say about me, as long as you spell my name correctly!" adage.

I get the impression a lot of it is simply a matter of making sure that Trump doesn't win, and not so much a matter of actually liking Hillary. If acting like Hillary is awesome and defending even the indefensible will help keep Trump out of the WH, then so be it.

I've even seen it suggested several times (by random internet commenters, mind you) that everyone, even professional journalists, have a moral obligation to go after Trump exclusively while defending Hillary vigorously, because Trump is just so terrible that keeping him out of the WH takes precedent over everything else.

I.e., a lot of her "lowly supporters" are supporters in appearance only, while the others have simply been duped by them.

Nah, I'm not talking about that crowd. I get it if a person hates Trump so much, they've got to hold their nose and reluctantly vote for Hillary because they believe she's the lesser of evil.

What I'm referring to are the multitude of smiley and gleeful dupes in the crowd during her speeches, waving their pro-Hillary signs, hanging onto her every word with bated breath and cheering everything she says regardless of what she says just because she's Hillary. That's who I'm talking about. And I used the word "lowly" to distinguish the elite crowd of Dems from the little people (not the least of which are black communities). I understand why the Dem leadership supports her, and will stop at nothing to get her elected, because they're just as corrupt as she is.

For that matter, Trump is vilified for telling the truth!
