Equally, religious extremism should not be connected to all Muslims, which it does look as if you are attempting, imo. I know quite a few moderate Muslims.....

The Western World is going to get fed up with all extremism, I reckon.

It is reported here that the terrorist used a AR-15, purchased recently.
I have often wondered what any civilian might need an AR-15 for.

Let's not hold our breath on the issue of such easy availability of assault rifles in the US...?

Don't most Muslim States regularly execute homosexuals? Are they all radical?

One thing you need to remember: Muslims are obligated by their religion to lie to Infidels. It's why they'll "apologize" for a terrorist attack in public while preaching hate and murder inside the walls of the local mosque.

Muslims kill tens of thousands of people a year around the world and injure at least as many -- the vast majority of these atrocities are ignored by the media (over 2000 have been killed in the last 30-days alone!) -- and we're supposed to be upset by a handful of comparatively innocuous "hate crimes"? Give me a break.

Why would they if the public doesn't know the investigations are occurring? I'm not sure about the Boston Bombing case, but in this case, it looks more like incompetence (also considering all the counter terrorism measures that were in place post-911) than any apprehension on their part about PC.

The Texas Lt. Gov has got himself in a little bit of trouble, because every Sunday his twitter account automatically posts an inspirational picture with a bible verse. The one that happened to be posted today was "Man reaps what he sows". Oops.

An angry Internet has led to him deleting that tweet. I guess it could have been worse... it could have been Lev 20:13.

"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell

Have you been to a local Mosque?
Sunni or Shi'ite? Most Moslems do not want anything to do with hate crimes, terrorism or homophobia. They are mostly good, working family people around here. (UK)

An angry Western World might go looking for any writings, anywhere, which could be construed as inflammatory homophobic hatred.

Yup, and let's be clear that that's how a lot of young people in the Western world do interpret events like this.

And the response from conservative Christians is that more nuance is needed than that, and that this is "specifically Muslims".

But when liberals suggest that it's only radical fundamentalist Muslims, and that most Muslims are fine, the conservatives Christians try to have it both ways, and say less nuance is needed, and that we shouldn't just blame a tiny minority of Muslims, we should spread the blame out to all Muslims.

They want to have a very conveniently chosen level of nuance such that they blame as wide a possible a group without spreading the blame quite as far as themselves.

An example of a "hate crime" from your source: "The most recent episode cataloged by the San Bernardino research group came Tuesday, when a man reportedly pulled a knife on a Muslim woman at a carwash and threatened her." Meanwhile, Muslims are burning people alive by the dozens!

Already the few Christians that are homophobic extremists are pointing with shaking fingers at all Muslims, shouting, 'It's them! All them! Over there! Not here!'.
