China's domination in alternative energy sources.
Whilst China is still needing to burn fossil fuels for up to 60% of its energy needs, it's clearly showing the way forward in development of alternative energy sources.
We are all having difficulty in weaning ourselves off the dirtiest sources of energy, but China seems to be leading the way to clean energy supplies.
Or do you think that your country/area is cleaner? If so, tell us all about it.
Soar Energy:- Beijing is set to further increase its manufacturing and installation of solar panels as it seeks to master global markets and wean itself from imports.
A research unit of the European Commission calculated in a report in January that Chinese companies could make solar panels for 16 to 18.9 cents per watt of generating capacity. By contrast, it cost European companies 24.3 to 30 cents per watt, and American companies about 28 cents.
Wind Energy:- China will have built around 1,300 gigawatts (GW) of wind and solar capacity by the end of 2024, the CEC expects, meaning it will have already exceeded its official target of 1,200 GW by 2030.30 Jan 2024
China's wind, solar capacity forecast to overtake coal in 2024
Wave and Tidal energy:- Wave power installations are undergoing sea trials. China's technology in these fields is among the best in the world. In March, the country's first megawatt-scale tidal stream station was hooked up to the grid in Zhejiang and is expected to generate at least 1 GWh a year.
