Comparative Religions 101 Guidelines
Welcome to Comp Religions, this is where the sights and sounds of the many world religions come together in a big World's Fair type atmosphere, without those delicious funnel cakes.
World Religions is a theist only type place, but that does not exclude certain religionists who practice non-theistic faiths ala Buddhism. If you are not sure, ask a moderator.
This is not a place where we argue the existence / non-existence of God.
And as usual, the forum rules apply.

Once one makes the voluntary decision to become a celibate member of a religious order or community requiring celibacy of its members, if he is a man, he may have the option of seeking ordination, but he does not have the option to get married without first leaving the religious order.Last edited by robrecht; 05-20-2014, 09:50 PM.

On the other hand, I suppose it is possible for a married priest in the Roman catholic church, eg, one who converted from Anglicanism after already being ordained, to be elevated to the episcopacy.
