Jim some of the brightest people I know are Christian, as were many of our more notable scientists in history. But God does not require a superior intellect for entrance into the kingdom - which should be comforting to you.

because God does care about reason and logic. That's why he gave us brains. But he will take all who come to him for any reason: desperation, loneliness, love, tragedy, logic, reason, etc.

Just because he accepts anyone doesn't equate to him not caring about logic or reason or whether his followers exercise their reason. Christianity is a logical religion based on evidence.
