Apologetics 301 Guidelines

If you think this is the area where you tell everyone you are sorry for eating their lunch out of the fridge, it probably isn't the place for you

This forum is open discussion between atheists and all theists to defend and debate their views on religion or non-religion. Please respect that this is a Christian-owned forum and refrain from gratuitous blasphemy. VERY wide leeway is given in range of expression and allowable behavior as compared to other areas of the forum, and moderation is not overly involved unless necessary. Please keep this in mind. Atheists who wish to interact with theists in a way that does not seek to undermine theistic faith may participate in the World Religions Department. Non-debate question and answers and mild and less confrontational discussions can take place in General Theistics.

    Scripture Verse: Matthew 7

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Do you actually believe in the Rapture? Do you think that all believers will suddenly disappear from the earth as in one of those unintentionally hilarious Left Behind novels?

Probably a good idea since if it happens they won't be around.

That comment is definitive proof that you don't know what the verse means.

I am fully aware of those verses. Or are you also now claiming to hold the definitive interpretation?

I may not have the definitive interpretation (whatever you mean by that), but it is quite clear from your previous post that you haven't the foggiest idea who Jesus is talking about.

I was being sarcastic, given that you and others here have a propensity to tell me what certain texts mean as you have the definitive interpretation and understanding of those texts. .

Right, whenever your ignorance is exposed, you always pivot to "I was only joking!" You are so predictable.

Being sarcastic is not automatically equated with being jocular. And you [plural] do have a tendency to assume that your interpretations of various texts are the only possible interpretations that could be assumed to be correct.
