I've been eyeing it apprehensively for a while, but since you mention it I'll give it a watch sometime.

Do you think it's worth a watch?
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ― C.S. Lewis, God in the Dock: Essays on Theology (Making of Modern Theology)

      • Anyone remember Cliffhangers from 1979? I liked The Curse of Dracula. Of course, that might merely have been because Michael Nouri was in the title role...

I don't really find it all that bizarre. I mean, not compared to some of the films I've previously listed here. I think it's an extremely well done horror film though, and I really wish it would have been its own thing. I'd pay to see that one in the theater.

I've really liked everything I've seen from that director (which is just that, and the two Raid movies). He seems to know what he's doing.

If you've seen the V/H/S films and enjoyed them, I think you might like the ABCs of Death as well. Thing is, they're pretty long, and it gets kinda heavy after awhile. But if you don't mind that, or if you watch it with time outs its pretty good.

I haven't seen the second Raid film, but yeah, he seems to have a handle on what he's doing. I've noticed that sometimes when you give these sort of directors too much money and freedom they sort of implode (like Trank with the recent Fantastic 4 film). I'd like to see more horror from him though. Not enough good stuff out there.

I'm interested to see what else he does.

But you should see The Raid 2. It takes everything from the first one and makes it way bigger and way more intense.

                      No.

                      Sorry.

                      Was that an anthology series?

It's hilarious through most, but near the end.

                              Is okay.

Yep. It was three old time serials aired together. The Secret Empire and Stop Susan (Alton) Being the other two.

I forget how it ends. Remind me again?
