It means we won't be able to pick on JimL's spelling and grammar anymore, cause he'll be the norm.

I'm reading a book about learning other languages. If people don't learn English grammar (or general concepts of grammar), they don't have to worry about learning other languages. They won't learn any.

True. I know some German and their grammar is way different from English.

Isn't spoken and written English different? Like you would not talk like you were writing a professional level paper!

When I was in college, I wrote more like I speak. My English profs said it was refreshing. They told me that too many students wrote like they were trying to sound like lawyers.

I was recently taught about writing in standard written English. Partly, this is to avoid sophisticated language but it also that you don't use contractions. So this written English is supposed to be less casual than spoken English but is not to be showing off big vocabularies. I was told I should tame down my words even though I didn't purposely use odd words -- maybe sometimes I used words that I thought best fit what I wanted to say.

I was just reading about the German's use of overly complicated compound sentences. This was not only a problem for foreign readers but also for readers who have German as the first language.

Bingo. This has become more evident than it's EVER been. The left is projecting their own inherent racist feelings towards blacks, and they've twisted it in such a bizarre way so that they can act like they're not the racists for looking at blacks as inferior, but everyone else is. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen.
