The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King

Trump's "coronavirus bump" is officially dead. As of this morning, his approval rating is pretty much back in pre-coronavirus territory.
The almost complete lack of a significant bump in the context of a crisis is not a good sign for him...The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. The almost complete lack of a significant bump in the context of a crisis is not a good sign for him...The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

According to the BBC news website, Donald Trump just accused China of downplaying the seriousness of Covid-19 in order to reduce his chance of beating Joe Biden in the upcoming elections.Jorge: Functional Complex Information is INFORMATION that is complex and functional.
MM: First of all, the Bible is a fixed document.
MM on covid-19: We're talking about an illness with a better than 99.9% rate of survival.

We are seeing more and more of these:
This one is from the Lincoln Project. From Wikipedia:
The Lincoln Project is an American political action committee formed in late 2019 by several prominent Republicans. The goal of the committee is to prevent the reelection of Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
It is refreshing to know that there are actually some Republicans out there who put ethics and country before party and partisan politics. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. His history is mostly of hands-across-the-aisle cooperation and compromise. It's how he built his reputation. If the Republicans show one iota of willingness to do so, instead of digging in their heels with a "my way or the highway" approach, and an almost complete shut-out of Democratic involvement, we might see an end to gridlock.
My guess is they will do what they did with Obama and obstruct incessantly. "Compromise" is now a dirty word and gets people primaried. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
