I am not at all sure folks on the right are listening to themselves anymore and fairly sure that their sense of ethics requires that they not be listening to themselves.

The House ran their portion of the impeachment proceedings exactly the way they wanted to run them.
Now you "folks on the left" are so deranged as to think that the "folks on the left" should determine how the Senate runs their portion of the impeachment proceedings. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

That seems pretty weak.
Since democrats are all partisan hacks according to you, if a democrat president had clearly committed an impeachable act but no democrats supported impeachment purely because of their partisan hackiness, would it then be unfair for a GOP majority House to commence impeachment proceedings?

I'll repeat what Nancy said --
In this particular case, I agree with Nancy 100%.
I do not believe in weaponizing impeachment. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

The only "effective" things it has done so far...
A) raise tons of money for Trump and
2) pretty much guaranty him a second term. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

All presidents have been subjected to oversight investigations. All have complied with witnesses and document production throughout their term. Trump is unusual for his lack of cooperation, both in the Mueller investigation and now during his impeachment.
