My argument was that the interpretation of scripture varies e.g. the likes of Buttigieg, as a practicing Christian, interprets scripture in such a way that homosexuality is OK with a loving God.

You have yet to give even ONE EXAMPLE of Buttigieg interpreting scripture AT ALL regarding homosexuality. He doens't interpret scripture at all - he just totally ignores it and invents a sissy Jesus who is suddenly OK with sin.
