I think they would argue that theywe are the ones who have got it right.

Which of Jesus' commands preclude us from voting for Trump as president? Chapter and verse, if you don't mind.

Of all the candidates who ran for president in both parties, who was the "morally acceptable" choice? That is to say, who could Real Christians TM have safely voted for without running the risk of being "called out" for it by hypocritical self-righteous liberals?

Non-Christians have been grousing about Christians not behaving the way that they want us to for decades if not centuries.

I'm always still in trouble again

Looks like Jim prefers that we live under the rule of criminal Hillary and her criminal syndicate just so he can clutch his pearls and talk about principles while those in power trample over those principles daily.

Okay Look. Trump isn't exactly a Christian here. and no there wasn't a morally acceptable choice from either side. It didn't matter who you voted for you were going to have to disregard moral things in 2016. Frankly I've seen Christians do and say some very very sickening things to defend Donald Trump's actions. It's a disgrace. I'm not defending social justice warriors here by any means, But when you who claim to be a Christian pretend that touching another person is ok, or that a homeless person should simply do without because you think they aren't willing to work we have another moral problem entirely.

You sound like the adulterers that get mad at church leadership for saying they shouldn't be committing adultery and try to sue the church.

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

Certainly, but I've never seen anyone espouse those views, so this looks suspiciously like attacking a strawman.

And Christians have been ignoring Christ's words for centuries. So what? It is still a disgrace for a non-Christian familiar with scripture to be able to observe and point out that some of the most basic teachings of scripture regarding our behavior and priorities are being ignored for personal interests. Do you remember what Paul said (paraphrase Eph 2:11-13), that if the natural branches will be cut off for their sin, how much more those that are grafted in?

When Christians defend immorality for their own personal comfort, it is a disgrace. And I'm sorry, looking at the things trump is doing and saying "but we pay less in taxes" or "look at how good the economy is doing" is nothing less than giving the rich man the preferred seat at the table and kicking the poor man out of it.

Over Jesus' entire ministry he never stopped rebuking the excess of the rich and the powerful and pointing out hypocrisy of the abuse of the poor. And he didn't mince words. The RICH man is in hell, and the abused poor man is in Abraham's bosom.

We shouldn't need non-Christians to be pointing out such obvious conflicts with what our faith teaches.

Even more so, we should NOT be trying to justify ourselves when they do.

Still waiting for chapter and verse. "You shall not commit adultery" is in the Bible, but "You shall not vote for or in any other way support a less than morally perfect political candidate" is not.
