An offhand discussion at work the other day about moon landing conspiracy theories revealed that the majority of people in my immediate vicinity saw merit to these theories/doubted that man had ever been to the moon . Given that this was only 4 or 5 people, this was hardly much of a sample size, but it made me wonder about the prevalence of said theories, both in the general public and on TWeb. I especially wonder about the latter because my corner of the office leans conservative.

Prevalence of moon landing conspiracy theories
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard RavenhillTags: None

Do these people also disbelieve in modern space exploration - e.g. mars rovers / pluto flybys etc? Or is the view simply that the original moon landing might have been faked as a part of cold-war propaganda?"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

When I think about it in those terms, I can see the appeal to it.

JimMy brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26
This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

I am surprised it was as many as you say. It's sad really. And I would guess part of it is the anti-science tendency in conservative voters spurred on by the various and sundry pseudo science outlets and general conspiracy paranoia they see embraced by their leaders. E.g. Ken Ham and many evangelicals, Trump and his attitude towards AGW and a whole host of other conspiracy theories.

It's getting difficult to dialogue with you about anything, Jim; your paranoia regarding Public Enemy #1 is tainting everything you post these days.Veritas vos Liberabit<>< Learn Greek <>< Look here for an Orthodox Church in America<><Ancient Faith Radio
