Here's one attempt to do the math...

Does Pelosi have the votes to become speaker?

But whether those 11 and 9 will all vote against her remains to be seen.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Oh, I'm not trying to convince myself of that, I already know that for a fact. They only demonize those who they fear MM, and they demonize Pelosi more than they do anyone. It's not rocket science!

From where did you pull that baseless assertion, Jim?

I wouldn't be shocked if she got some Republican votes for Speaker, just so they know whom they're dealing with.

That's actually been cited as a possibility if it looks like she doesn't have the votes from her own side.

          AND, interestingly enough....

            I am so sorry.

I keep thinking that this thread is talking about whether Pelosi will be speaker, or whether she will be fudge.

            Just sayin'..........

You're not suggesting I had any such intent when I came up with the title, are you?

Believe me, they don't want to have to deal with Pelosi. She doesn't suffer fools, and the fools know it.

I don't care for her much at all, but I've been worried about her well being for a long time. Some of her starements are just so outlandish and just plain garbage.

                      Which? Take your pick.

There has been a lot of talk about increasingly erratic behavior on her part over the last couple of years so having the spotlight on her might make for interesting times.

I have to say that listening to news broadcasts referencing "Speaker Fudge" for the next two years would be a bit entertaining

A few responses about Pelosi from progressives in my Twitter feed today:

Finally we [Trump and I] agree! Nancy Pelosi is a true Republican leader!

                            - Fights against Medicare For All
                            - Supports tax cuts for the rich
                            - Cuts down progressive candidates with no corporate money
                            - Makes ridiculous bank off of huge corporate contributions

                            Thanks for making it clear.

Reasons Trump wants Pelosi as speaker
                            - GOP fundraises & turns out base off of bashing her
                            - Her approval is 28%, makes him popular in comparison
                            - She caves to the GOP all the time
                            - She fights her own base all the time
                            - He knows whoever replaces her will obstruct him & go left

Most progressives seem to oppose Pelosi because she is too conservative.

If that's the case then ya'll must really fear President Trump.

So, perhaps you could explain to Jimmy why Trump would fear her?
