Citation? I'm not seeing anything that says she did more than have some wine with her dinner. And I repeat - "not 100% sober" and "drunk" are not synonymous. So you claim that she "admitted to being drunk" is simply untrue (unless you can support it with something more than what you have provided thus far).

The Washington Post, which would most definitely be considered very friendly toward Ginsburg, described her as being "tipsy" which usually is taken to mean slightly drunk.

Further, in my experience, whenever someone describes themself as not being "100 percent sober" I take it to mean that they were over the legal limit (legally drunk if they got behind the wheel of an automobile) which does not necessarily mean that they're three sheets to the wind, stumbling drunk -- just past the feeling a warm glow stage.

Actually - the head line is "a little tipsy." I just had a 16oz Switchback and I could describe myself as "a little tipsy." I am by no means "drunk."

And it is the WP headline, not Ginsburg herself. MM's statement was that Ginsburg "admitted she was drunk." That statement is patently false. She did nothing of the sort. And your interpretation is about you. You can take it any way you wish - it's NOT what she said. You and MM are doing the same thing - taking a fairly clear statement and piling interpretations on it to align with your desires. I'm taking her at her word - she had something to drink. How much and the degree to which she was inebriated is not known. Falling asleep is not an indication of "drunk" OR beyond the legal limit. Show me that she couldn't walk straight and I'd accept your assessment of her status. But it STILL would not make MM's statement true - that she "admitted she was drunk," unless you want to take the absurd position that anyone who has ingested any amount of alcohol is "drunk."
