If you'll believe that, Acting-Attorney-General Whitaker literally has a hot tub from his scam company to sell you.

I'm disappointed in Trump: Fraudulent hot tubs aren't up to the level of fraudulent universities and fraudulent charities and fraudulent taxes like Trump does, and Trump told us he only hires the best people. He's slipping on the level of his criminals / cabinet appointees.

To answer your question: I'd be pleased and very pleasantly surprised. Trump administration officials not being absurdly corrupt, and instead rising to the bar of doing a run-of-the-mill job at their jobs would be a nice change.

To ask you the opposite question: Assuming he does the opposite and does all the things that you seem to agree would be bad with regard to interference with the Mueller investigation, what would your response be? Are you such a dyed-in-the-wool Trump cultist that it wouldn't shake your fervent faith one iota?

The AG controls the Mueller investigation so this is a critical point for America. The blue wave indicates that the country is now out of step with its criminal President. How much damage is he willing to do to escape justice?

So it turns out that Federal law clearly states that with the Attorney General gone, the Deputy Attorney General (Rod Rosenstein) is now Acting-Attorney General.

Trump does not have the authority to choose the Acting Attorney General. He can, of course, nominate Hot-Tub-Conman Whitaker for the position of Attorney General and await Senate confirmation, but the choice of Acting Attorney General isn't up to him. This law dates back to the bad old days of Watergate and was put in place to stop presidents doing a Nixon.

Even if that federal law hadn't existed, there's pretty powerful constitutional arguments to be made that because the constitution specifies that the Attorney General position requires Senate confirmation, the president can't simply stick a random person into the position without such Senate confirmation. Multiple legal scholars are expressing this view in media outlets currently, and SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas made precisely this argument last year in a concurring opinion.

Perfect example of why I call you a big dummie. Whiticker is a no-body, he's another unethical thief just like your naked emperor, but he is loyal to the Don, and he has already explained publicly how he would go about shutting down the Mueller investigation, which of course J. Sessions, since recusing himself, has no ability to do, which is why he was let go. That isn't a conspiracy theory you big dunce, those are obvious facts which you just have no capacity to grasp.

I doubt that will happen, but if it does I will do what none of you so far has shown you have the guts or integrity to do. I will admit I was wrong.

Despite JimL being 'acerbic' in making his point, it is as obvious as anything Trump has done so far that he fired Sessions so he can shut down the Mueller probe. JimL is not wrong on that MM. A personal attack on him will not change that simple fact and illustrates only who you are without adding one ounce to any evidence what he has said is wrong or incorrect.

As for JimL being acerbic - have any of you actually read your own posts lately?

Supposing you're right, why shouldn't he? It's a colossal waste of money and government resources. Allowing Mongrel Mueller to continue running around without a leash, snapping at anything that moves would be unconscionable.

Find a half dozen posts by JimL that are NOT 'acerbic' or otherwise calling somebody stupid or moron or idiot or ignorant..... He's not here for Christian fellowship, Jim.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

That is something we will probably know fairly soon. I'm as interested as the next guy as to the outcome. And if Mueller has any sense at all, he would known the firing of Sessions was coming and has 95% of the report already written and ready to go.

So the argument is "we didn't get beaten as badly as we feared." Understood.

Yes - the entire country was overdue for a correction. It was due for a correction in 2008 when things were badly skewed to the left (at least at the federal level) and it over-corrected to the right. Now the reverse is true, especially at the state level. And the gerrymandering needs to be undone. I don't see why either party seems to relish in winning by cheating. "Winning at any cost" is not a very ethically healthy model.

The "acerbic" comment was from me. While I am by no means perfect, I work pretty hard to make my posts about the arguments, and not the person, and to call people on the uncivil tone so often taken here. But most of the time it is to little avail. For some, my lack of perfection becomes an excuse to dismiss those calls. For others, they defend the lack of civility as perfectly appropriate and even necessary.

For some, the "Christian" message has become fairly toxic. I find myself in sympathy with the "Red Letter Christians."
