I don't really think anybody is accusing Uncle Joe of being a sexual molester, Jim. He's just "handsy", which, according to many codes of sexual conduct, is simply not acceptable.

As an HR Professional () I've had to endure many classes on this so I could teach the material.

On the other hand, inappropriate touching involves hugs, touches and other gestures of a physical nature, but not necessarily a sexual nature, that tend to make a co-worker feel uncomfortable and is not appropriate workplace conduct.

Or the guy in our Houston office who thought he would be cute, and as he introduced the lady who was going to be facilitating the class, he said, "and remember kids, sexual harassment won't be reported, it will be graded", and he gave a big wink.

She was very cool, and said, "unfortunately, Mr Jenkins, I will be reporting that very comment to your direct supervisor". She was dead serious, and he got a pretty good reprimand. Our company was growing rapidly, and I had to help people understand we were transitioning from a "Bubba Company" to a publicly held investment grade business. Some of the Bubbas didn't get to ride along.
