When it was brought up at an MSNBC town hall on racism, Jarrett didn't even mention Barr but instead launched into a rant in which she put the blame squarely on Trump declaring that, "The tone does start at the top, and we like to look up to our president and feel as though he reflects the values of our country." While she did mention "every individual citizen has a responsibility too" she immediately went back to blaming Trump by adding in the same breath that "Our government is only going to be as good as we make it be."

This was immediately picked up by many on the left such as ."

Al Sharpton, who was also on the MSNBC panel, sitting next to Jarrett, and who has a sordid history of racist and anti-Semitic remarks[2], added "When he did everything he could to do dog whistling[3] around this issue of race, people like Roseanne feel they're empowered. Well, they got the memo today you're not empowered, people are not going to take it." It should be noted that Barr was pulling similar stunts back when Obama was president so I guess this means Obama must have "empowered" her to act like a complete jackass then.

April Ryan, a White House correspondent and Washington, D.C., bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks as well as a CNN political analyst who has been claiming that Trump is involved in child sex-trafficking ring, proclaimed in a tweet "These folks are looking for black women to go after these past few days to rile up the Trump base. They need to stop. It is a dangerous climate!" Again, Barr like Ryan is on the far left of the political spectrum.

And Washington Post columnist and CNN analyst declared in a tweet that Barr's outburst is evidence that "Trump is normalizing racism."

    1. Valerie Jarrett, who was an Obama Senior Adviser -- has actually moved in with Barack and Michelle since they left the White House (creepy level +100 )

    2. Sharpton has defended his calling whites "crackers" and called Jews "white interlopers" which lead to one of his supporters firebombing a Jewish business resulting in the deaths of 7 employees and declared at the start of the Crown Heights riots in Brooklyn, "If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house."

    3. As I pointed out a little over a week ago:
I again remain very disgusted that both the far right and the far left are what have such a strong foot hold in the country right now. Both are so divisive and pretty much two sides of the same coin

Our President Trump is NOT on the far right. He is a progressive. He is just irrationally hated by the far left.

He's far right. Or at least so loved by the far right he'll do anything to please them. I don't like him at all. And I'm not on the "far left." I think he's a complete sleezeball who is using the office for personal gain rather than the good of the nation.

You missed one: Racist CNN commentator Van Jones said much the same thing.

And another thread turns to Bashing the president.

I think Rosanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell are two sides of the same nutjob coin. Both are outspoken, obnoxious, hateful nuts. The two Roses.

They are even friends IRL and Rosie is sticking up for Rosanne about this controversy.

That is very nutty. I don't know how one can blame another's word's on Donald Trump. Especially given how crazy she already was, and it was quite clear she was nuts. Its been quite a few years but Roseanne Barr mentioned that she had some kind of dissociative disorder on top of already being crazy. Although I do wonder if she was trying to excuse her behavior.

Let's not be bores. Stop Trumping every thread. Roseanne said something the bosses didn't like. It's not the first time either. I've rarely watched the show at all but I did hear about her cannonball behavior throughout the first run. You're all right that hypocrisy is rampant.

Even if rumors are true and the show has been picked up by another network, still not watching the show despite my disgust with some of the treatment Barr is getting.

Whether or not Trump is a complete sleezeball or not is not relevant to whether he is far right... and he isn't. His rhetoric and behavior can be extreme sometimes, but outside of immigration (which I still wouldn't qualify him as far-right on), his political positions aren't particularly outlandish.

Trump is difficult to pin down because his positions on most issues tend to change by the day.
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's not untrue, but again, what's extreme about Trump isn't his positions (whatever they happen to be at the moment), but his often inflamamtory rhetoric. There was even an article in Mother Jones that, despite saying he's an idiot, did note that he was relatively moderate and that was a contributing factor to him getting the Republican nomination. So whatever valid criticisms there are of Trump, and there are plenty, being far-right really isn't one of them.
