Why? The scientific truths about climate change are not affected by what some ex-US politician says. I could barely care less about him. I've never heard him speak or read anything he's written. I can't recall hearing anyone in my life outside this forum ever mention him.
I get that because you're a bit of a clown and strongly politically partisan you like pointing and laughing at US Democrat politicians for doing things you think are silly (even if it's usually not silly and you're usually the stupid one and not them in the situation). It's amusing to laugh at you for that."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

It depresses me that in the US there is such a strong tendency among conservatives to hate and oppose anything a Democratic politician does just because it's a Democratic politician doing it.
Al Gore left politics and decided to spend his life drawing attention to the problem of climate change. There are many things a politician can do once they're out of politics: In the US most get cushy lobbying jobs, and most of the rest get lucrative positions on boards of private companies. It's somewhat nice, IMO, that Al Gore choose to do charitable work instead and dedicate effort to making people aware of the problems of climate change.
Unfortunately, I wonder if he does more harm than good, simply because the US conservatives are soooo reactionary. Because he's an ex-Democratic politician, if he says "up", then they'll shout "down". It's depressing and says a lot about the psychological issues of US conservatives. So Al Gore spending his time doing something nice and charitable in practice turns into a strong motivator for US conservatives to be against all ideas of climate change, and associate them with 'liberals'. It's sad."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

There is no consensus of scientists on how bad effects of AGW, warming will be.
So what happened was this famous politician goes about preaching 'sky is falling!!!!' fear, to get people to '''''do something!!!!!' even though science of effects not settled yet. Sad!Last edited by demi-conservative; 03-18-2018, 09:45 PM.Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.

Insofar as there can be said to be a poster boy for climate change, I would say it was the IPCC (the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

Have you noticed that any time the weather doesn't cooperate with the myth of global warming, liberals simply give it a name and then dismiss it as not relevant? Record cold temperatures contrary to global warming predictions? No problem, just call it a "polar vortex" or "nor'easter" and carry on with your agenda. Heavy rainfall? No worries! Just whip up terms like "flying rivers" and "rain bombs", and you're in the clear!
It's insane. Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd

Than a fool in the eyes of God
