A commentator I was listening to was discussing what approach Dems should take. One option he discussed was doing what Trump did to Hillary Clinton in one of the debates, and bringing all the women that had accused Bill Clinton to sit in the front row. Dems could muster a pretty large group of Trump accusers for the purpose, along side Stormy Daniels etc. Or Dems could boycott the whole proceedings. But the commentator's preferred option was that the Dems prearrange to all give really fake sounding laughs at whatever Trump is saying whenever Schumer signals by touching his nose, so that Trump's ridiculous speech gets repeatedly laughed at.
It will be interesting to see who writes Trump's speech and how much he sticks to script.
Not sure if I'll watch it - I watched my first SOTU when Obama did his final one and actually found it pretty annoying / offensive (e.g. Obama talked openly about how the TPP would gain America power over my region of the world and my country). I'm actually more interested in Maxine Waters' response scheduled to be televised by BET. That should be entertaining. Might even try to organize a drinking game based on how often she screeches "impeach!" but I doubt anyone would be conscious long enough to hear the end of her diatribe.
