        They both claim to be additions to prior revelation. Muhammed seems to have gotten his ideas about Jews and Christians from unorthodox practitioners of both; it's not surprising that his ideas about God were unorthodox.

          yeah but Islam pretty much disavows the old testament in practice, mostly because they hate the Jews. I agree in principal they have the same God and for the purposes of my example with Jefferson, even if he claimed to be a muslim it would work the same.

                      A matter of differing opinion. When you change who God is to the degree that Islam does, it is a different god, in my opinion.

                              Did you really just ask that when the text is available online? There are five explicit references to God in the Delaration of Independence: twice as "God", and then "Creator", "Supreme Judge", and "Divine Providence", all capitalized.
