It took only hours for one of the biggest stories in conservative media this week, which some outlets had chosen to focus on over news that President Trump disclosed classified information to senior Russian officials, to fall apart....

For months, right-wing media outlets have floated unproven theories that Rich was the person who provided Wikileaks thousands of internal DNC emails, and that his death might have been connected with the supposed leak. No real evidence has been provided to support such claims and Washington's Metropolitan Police Department, which continues to investigate the murder, says there is evidence to suggest he may have been the victim of a botched robbery.

Nevertheless, a handful of right-wing media outlets have latched on to the theory -- and Wheeler's remarks on Monday allowed the narrative to once again ricochet throughout the conservative media universe....

But Tuesday afternoon, Wheeler told CNN he had no evidence to suggest Rich had contacted Wikileaks before his death.

Wheeler instead said he only learned about the possible existence of such evidence through the reporter he spoke to for the FoxNews.com story....

Earlier Tuesday, Brad Bauman, a spokesman for the Rich family, released a statement in which he said the family had "seen no evidence" to suggest Seth Rich had been in contact with Wikileaks.
Bauman told CNN the outlets that had run with the story "have shown over and over again that they are willing to lie and manipulate the facts" to further "their own political end."

Conservative media outlets are nutbars and you guys are naive fools for believing any of the lies that Breitbart or Faux News tell you. In this case a Fox News reporter told a private investigator a bogus theory who then repeated that back to the Fox News reporter, and they published that as 'news'.

But since you guys are so gullible... I've heard a big conspiracy that's much more believable: For every $1000 you send to my bank account or the bank account of my friend the Nigerian Prince, 1 person will come to Christ or 1 voting American will convert from being a progressive liberal Democrat to a conservative Republican, your choice. You can send the money as many times as you want, depending on how many people you want to convert. It's 100 times more real than any conspiracy theory the right-wing has yet come up with.

CNN's reduced to casting aspersions on conservative news outlets? Sweet.

I had no idea that frustrated robbers tended to shoot their unsuccessful victims in the back of the head.

I'm not saying that the article I referenced convinced me that Rich was the conduit, but this "rebuttal" is beyond weak.

I had some with the topic, so yes, they were silly posts.
If there is no evidence that Seth Rich was murdered over connections to Wikileaks then there would be no reason to believe the story.
