That depends on how you define pornography.

As for The Sound of Freedom, it features actors and not children actually being trafficked.

As do all dramas. That is why it is known as the acting profession.

With regard to pornography, like beauty it is in the eye of the beholder. And contrary to your preconceived and uninformed ideas about the film, it is actually about the over-sexualisation of women [and young girls] in western society because young girls have access to all the advertising, videos, social media, fashion, magazines, etc within western society that promote these images. It shows young girls not understanding how they should behave but desperate to "fit in".

However, if as you contend:

if something is immoral, you don't need to literally show it onscreen to get that point across

there was absolutely no need for the film The Sound of Freedom to be made. There is plenty of information about human trafficking available on the internet and in some news outlets via charities and NGOs.

She concedes nothing of the sort: she says that it is an argument raised by others. The rest of the article makes it clear that she considers the argument specious.

She concedes the argument that the film will delight pedophiles by not actually addressing it. She simply brushes the argument aside and tries to quickly move on before the reader notices. Instead of saying something like, "The film will not delight pedophiles because of A, B, and C," she effectively says, "So what if Cuties will delight pedophiles? It's art."

• An actress in a film pretending to be the victim of sex trafficking is not literally a victim of sex trafficking.
• An actress in a film performing a sexually suggestive dance routine is literally performing a sexually suggestive dance routine.

Sadly all you can seem to do is try to distract from child trafficking.

Unfortunately, I have used up my free views to The Atlantic and so I can no longer access that article. However, if you know what the film is about you will know it is not "softcore porn" despite what Gondwanaland contends.
