I agree. As much access-control as can be afforded and security officers who are suitable/trained to confront armed attacks. Absolutely.
Maybe school bursars, caretakers, teachers etc who are trained to use handguns (in armed conflict) could be allowed to have guns as well.

I don't know how much anti-bandit glass costs these days but it is much less expensive than bullet-proof/resistant glass, and although an attacker can shoot thru anti-bandit this glazing does not disintegrate like it did in that attack...you cannot get through it very easily.

How often do transgender people regret transitioning?

Some studies suggest that rates of regret have declined over the years as patient selection and treatment methods have improved. In a review of 27 studies involving almost 8,000 teens and adults who had transgender surgeries, mostly in Europe, the U.S and Canada, 1% on average expressed regret. For some, regret was temporary, but a small number went on to have detransitioning or reversal surgeries, the 2021 review said.

Anecdotally, 100% of transition-regret cases I have personally seen cited on the internet by conservatives featured one or both of:
- A religious conversion years later where the person now, holding their new religious beliefs, firmly believed being transgender was bad.
- People around them reacting very negatively to their transgenderism, to the point where they felt forced to undo the transition not because they didn't like it but because the people around them didn't like it.

In other words, as far as I can tell, pretty much 100% of what very little transgender regret exists is caused by conservatives being negative towards transgender people.

Yeah. Without good ratings you fail, and folks tune into this stuff. So the vicious cycle continues. Massive, repetitious coverage even where there is no new news inevitably followed by copy cats. Rinse and repeat.

Here is the problem, I'm a news consumer and I want to find out all I can about this latest shooter, for instance. I want to read her manifesto, I want to know if she was on anti-depressives, was she being shot up with make hormones, etc...?

I believe that if we removed the stigma of guns and encouraged more people to arm themselves, it would have a positive impact on society. Criminals would think twice about pulling a gun if they knew there was a good chance their victim(s) would shoot back.

Same. And yet, as studies show, that's exactly the sort of attention that inspires copycats. They figure that everyone will be interested in what they said and thought which is strong motivation for those sorts of people.
