Nothing new here, the Mexico City Policy is signed into law, or rescinded, depending upon the political party in charge. Unfortunately for its supporters, the policy seems to have the opposite effect intended. The abortion rate goes up when the government funding of these NGO's goes down. Not so. The Court argued in its In Roe v Wade ruling that the Constitution's First, Fourth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments protect the rights of the woman in such a situation.
