How old do you think he is? This is NOT adult thinking.

Late 20s, maybe early 30s. What gets me is that he thinks he's the paragon of virtue and morality, and he can't help saying some of the most unethical things I think I've ever heard anyone say, and mean it. He's about as far from a pacifist as anyone I know, and he has the audacity to sneer at those who support sanctioned torture and the death penalty (which I, myself, oppose) while being fine with the beating and murder of ideologues whose views he disagrees with? Richard Spencer is vile, and his views are horrendous, but I don't want to see harm come to him. I'd rather he come to know the love of Christ, and break free of the hate that binds him. I wish the same for Starlight as a matter of fact.

If it's self defense yes. However part of me is expecting pretty much another civil war or something between the two sides. Just let it be known that the liberals started it.

Yes. People disagreeing over how their own country is to be governed is part and parcel of politics.

How about a war of aggression and occupation. Would the Ukranians have the right to fight back against Russian incursions?

That's complicated and a grey area, and I have discussed that elsewhere with CP in more detail.

Yes, because people have the right to self-determination and to respond to their own leaders.

Because the alt-right are a bunch of horrible people advocating horrible things, and it is cathartic to see a leader of that movement get a punch in the face.

So, the guy is standing there very peacefully, just talking, and some gutless coward with his face covered comes in and punches him from the side, and runs away like the gutless coward he is.

(It does appear, to be fair, that some of those who were also protesting weren't very happy with the guy doing the punching, and somebody even grabs his hat as the guy tries to run away. Also, the person doing the punching appears to be a white dude!)

I was watching the riots on tv. one thing that was especially telling was when one lone guy was standing in the middle of the street holding up a sign, and there were about 30 reporters gathered around him with cameras

Yeah, I saw that - the reporter was frantically reporting that the cops were pushing them back, but the reporters kept trying to get a shot of the idiot in the street with the sign -- if they would have just ignored him...

I thnk 75% of the "protestors" were just reporters and gawkers.

I wish I could find online the photo they took to compare their spin with the reality of that photo.
