Civics 101 Guidelines
Want to argue about politics? Healthcare reform? Taxes? Governments? You've come to the right place!
Try to keep it civil though. The rules still apply here.

Nominating somebody who is actively in the process of suing the EPA is a conflict of interest, to say the least. I'm fully aware that's his appeal to conservatives.
I'm concerned on a personal level given I have a close family member who works for this agency."I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

It sounds to me like you're saying "Don't worry his conflict of interest will remove any future conflict of interests."

"As Pruitt testified before Congress, it is the legal duty of the EPA to tackle the carbon pollution that fuels the climate crisis," Sierra Club's executive director, Michael Brune, said in a statement. "Pruitt is endangering our families, and any sensible senator should demand he be removed from his position immediately for misleading Congress and being unfit and unwilling to do the job he has been entrusted to do."
David Doniger, director of the climate and clean air program at the Natural Resources Defense Council, said he considered the situation bizarre. "After obscuring his true views during his Senate confirmation hearings, Scott Pruitt has outed himself as a pure climate denier," Doniger said. "Having an EPA administrator who claims carbon pollution is not the primary cause of climate change is like having a U.S. surgeon general who says smoking is not the primary cause of lung cancer.''
