So why are you talking about things you know nothing about? We have treaties in place establishing our bases in Germany, Japan, and Italy along with SOFA's in place establishing agreements of how our military members will behave and what will happen if we don't. In fact, we have agreed to close bases in those countries too (one of the most famous examples being Rhein-Main AB). If you're going to start going off about how 'wrong' I am, it would do you a load of good to actually know the material before you try to talk about it.

No. You have agreements in place that maintain your military presence in those countries. US military presence in those countries was established by invasion during WWII.

That's because I talk about things I know and don't talk about things I don't know. In the case of military forces agreements between the US and other countries, I know a lot about these because I've had to live with them for the past 12 years.

Ummm perhaps because Germany is centrally located in Europe and has quick access to most of Europe,by land and by air? You are aware that US military hospitals, established in Germany, saved American lives that would have been lost, if they had to be flown to the US for treatment? I also find it rather amusing how people rant about these US bases and point out how few other countries have, while apparently ignoring that other NATO allies use these bases too. My point? There's reasons these bases exist and they exist not because the US enjoy's maintaining all of these bases, but because they serve a purpose (in fact, we've closed hundreds of them over the past 25 years).
