  • "Woke"?

    What's this all about?

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I first heard about the word when a SJW I knew from college self righteously posted about how only black people are allowed to use the word because it came from African American English. My reaction was... "Woke? As in I woke up this morning?"
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

        People can be strange sometimes,

I was at a planned parenthood training recently and one of the attendee's thought we shouldn't use intersectional because the term was first used by a black academic talking about the black community and that we were therefore appropriating the term. Suffice to say I disagreed strenuously. That intersectional was first brought up talking abour racial and financial issues doesn't mean we can't use the concept for other issues.

I have a hard time with the concept of language appropriation. If you took it to its logical conclusion, wouldn't it mean that you shouldn't learn other languages? (I actually have read an article where somebody argued something like this.)

I don't know what this means. I need to go and ax someone.

Maybe somebody can explain what sosecurity is, too.

It's all about controlling the language. If you can control the language then you can win any debate.

Yeah, we had some Churches 'agree to' our Ministerial Association's faith statement, which included agreement to a part about the Trinity. These churches signed on, even though we knew they didn't believe in the Trinity. When pressed, they responded, "yes, we believe in the Trinity - Faith, Hope and Love".

Well, the liberals are have a real conundrum over the "gays with guns" phenomenon..... one of their favorite causes embracing one of their most hated causes.
