It was sold as a humanitarian effort in order to placate Obama's bleeding-heart liberal supporters, which came with every sort of lie they could concoct, including a comical story about Gaddafi giving his troops Viagra in order to rape women to show his ruthlessness. But the real reason was apparently because Gaddafi was planning a gold-backed "pan-African currency" which would have competed with western currencies in the oil market. At least according to leaked emails...
It's interesting that this was one of the alternative "conspiracy theories" to explain the real reason behind the attack prior to these leaked emails; oil being another motivating factor. What a surprise there's nothing about helping the poor Libyan people from the big bad evil Libyan dictator in the email. Yet what a coincidence that the information in the email shows us how focused western intelligence was on Gaddafi's gold holdings and France's influence in the region and control over its oil.
So now this leaves us with things to mull over about the invasion of Iraq. While pundits ponder and debate about the real reason we invaded Iraq with no clear reason in sight, much like Libya prior to the email leak, conspiracy has it that the real reason for the invasion was because Hussein was threatening to sell his oil using the euro as an alternative to the dollar. Guess we need an email leak for that though, huh?
And, of course, if a gas pipeline is the REAL reason behind the Syrian conflict and US meddling in that conflict, which is apparently so serious to US interests, they'e willing to fund and arm al-qaeda linked terrorist groups to achieve this end
