So if Hillary were to drop out due to illness, what happens then? I mean, how does the Democrat party choose a successor, if that's what happens? This sort of thing doesn't happen often, so I'm curious how it would be handled.

I cant think of it ever happening. I would think they would either go with Sanders or Tim Kaine. and they would probably have to have an emergency vote of the delegates to decide.

I read yesterday that 2 delegates from each state would convene and vote on another nominee, and that the field would be wide open (Kaine would still be the VP nominee).

Her tripping boarding the airplane, however, is more than just clumsiness. You can see her struggling to get to the top of the stairs, then trip over the threshold because she was winded and unsteady.

If you watch her turn to wave at the crowd at the top of the stairs, she looks worn out and just half-heartedly waving. It's pretty obvious.

Historically doctors have been concerned with the health of Kennedy and Roosevelt and other presidents with far worse and ominous conditions than Hillary. It is common to minimalize and indeed cover up health issues of candidates and siting presidents in the USA and other countries.

Her present physician has given her a clean bill of health.

If there were something seriously wrong with her health wise, then why would she bother running for president? After all shes a crook and has billions in ill gotten gains stashed away so she certainly doesn't need the money. So why do you think this very ill woman would go through the hell of running for president? sheesh! such silly naive people.

Reminds me of the Torricelli effect back in 2002. Bob Torricelli, a corrupt politician, was losing to a mediocre Republican candidate (I think it was Doug Forrester) in the senate election. Torricelli finally quit weeks before the election. Legally it was too late to change the ballots, but the Democrat Party got the courts to suspend the law so that they could bring in an old Fossil, Frank Lautenburg (age 78) to run on the Democrat ticket. Lautenburg won the election.

A more interesting question a caller to a local talk radio show asked yesterday: what if Hillary is elected but is unable to be sworn because of health problems? Who becomes president? It wouldn't automatically be Kain if he's not sworn in. Would it fall to Congress to elect a replacement? An emergency election? Or, the most disturbing possibility, would it open the door for Obama to stay in office indefinitely until a solution can be found?

They did that at the last minute in a New Jersey Senate race in 2002 when Robert Torricelli dropped out (it was almost certain he'd lose his bid for re-election) and was replaced by the then retired Frank Lautenberg.

But a lot of people know and like Biden, and Trump would not have enough time to get Biden's numbers down.

That was exactly the plan when the Democrats replaced Robert Torricelli with the recently retired Frank Lautenberg in the New Jersey Senate race in 2002 at virtually the last minute. It worked.
