What the source says, if you read it, is that it is talking about IF someone did have sex with a child, it would be considered intercourse and therefore rape. In the OT it says that if a man rapes a woman he has to marry her.

I read it. It says there are no legal consequences for raping a girl who is under the age of three, because her hymen would regenerate. It also explicitly states that it is permitted to betroth a girl aged three via intercourse.

Therefore the man would have to marry the child - but he would not have her as a sexual partner until she became of age.

I did find the section stating that a girl younger than 12 can be sold into slavery.

He would have to care for her. Now to me and you that is immoral enough. because why should a rape victim become the raper's wife? But that was a society that if a woman was no longer a virgin, she would never have a husband to care for her. So basically this was how they forced the man to care for her so she would not be shunned and end up on the streets.

I asked you for examples from any other subject where a desire is involved.

Liquor companies show pictures of their product and how much fun it will make your life. That drives alcohol sales in the real world, it doesn't lower them. Food companies do the same. OR a base jumper or sky diver who says "ok, that was a trip - I can now return to my previous life".
