I'm not sure what your point is in saying this --

I honestly don't get why a so-called Christian site would find that funny, unless they're also a satirical Christian site?

In related news that isn't satire... here's what one of your nation's radicalized Christians actually said about Orlando

"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

Steven Anderson. Why am I not surprised it was Steven Anderson?

There was also apparently another pastor in California saying similar things.
"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

I'm with Carrik, though. I don't understand the point of the mention of the First Amendment. It is a non sequitur.

Tempe Pastor Hails Orlando Massacre for Leaving '50 Less Pedophiles in This World': Video

"The good news is there are 50 less pedophiles in this world," Anderson, pastor of Tempe's Faithful Word Baptist Church, says in the video. ". . .
The First Amendment States the following.

                  Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Should Congress make a law to abridge freedom of this kind of speech?

That question seems irrelevant because congress does not have the power to make such a law without the courts deeming it unconstitutional.

I do, however, think a lot of the US Constitution is silly, the way you guys have a politically-appointed supreme court is silly, and that the first and second amendments are silly / the expansive way they are regularly interpreted is silly, and I am glad my country doesn't have a constitution.

In general, in countries where they are constitutionally allowed to exist, I support reasonably strong laws against hate-speech, and I would class this pastor's statements as hate-speech.

The important thing about political free speech is the ability to say anti-government things. In a democracy it is important for citizens to be able to express disapproval with the current people in power, and critique them. That is the free political speech that it is important to protect. But when citizens start verbally attacking other citizens - through sexual harassment, slander, threats of violence, hate-speech, etc - the government has the normal duty to step in and prevent harm just as it would if one citizen physically attacked another.

What an uinbelievably innappropriate thread title.
London came to a silent standstill for two minutes for the Orlando victims and families.
Any such demonstration is equal in status to prayer, and so every religious person, agnostic, atheist, humanist or naturalist present was demonstrating love, understanding and unity of purpose for the victims.

Are you aware that some US representatives refused to participate in a moment of silence?
