Natural Science 301 Guidelines

This is an open forum area for all members for discussions on all issues of science and origins. This area will and does get volatile at times, but we ask that it be kept to a dull roar, and moderators will intervene to keep the peace if necessary. This means obvious trolling and flaming that becomes a problem will be dealt with, and you might find yourself in the doghouse.

As usual, Tweb rules apply. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

They are hypothesizing an intelligent source for life on Earth. They are not yet theorizing this. Rather large difference, scientifically speaking.

        That I agree with.

I think applying some charitable interpretation to seers words makes it clear that he takes 'theorizing' in this latter way.

          My reasoning is simple:

Suppose ANY "designer" other than God.
Okay, then what was the origin of that "designer"?
By logic and empiricism, infinite regression is not allowed.
Thus, two and only two options are possible: purely natural or supernatural.

If purely natural then ID fails.

If supernatural, then God necessarily enters the picture.

Yet, IDers wish to avoid that inevitable option (God = Designer) at all cost.

In Without Excuse I go into more detail but above is the essence.

More than anything else, chirping sounds has been the response ...

I understand but don't be too quick to give them any credit for something that your average Junior High School kid already knows. It is ONLY after that same kid becomes thoroughly indoctrinated into the Evolutionary mindset -- coupled with peer pressure, intimidation, relentless propaganda and ridicule -- that (s)he abandons the notion of an Intelligent Designer.

IOW, these "very respected scientists" have merely finally come around to what many of us have known from the start. Reminds me of the quote (paraphrasing): "After scaling the highest peaks of ignorance, they find theologians that have been patiently waiting for centuries."

But they're still not there ... I mean, "ET did it?!?" Come on!!!

                              From your site:

Appealing to a great deal of scholarship on archaeology and historical documentation, Heathens have attempted to build a modern religion which resembles that which was employed by these ancient tribes. This involves far, far more than simply learning the old mythological stories and then claiming to worship Odin and Thor and Frigga and Freyja and the other gods. Heathenry includes philosophy about kinship and ancestry and destiny and morality. Even if one were to completely ignore the theology of Heathenry, it still offers rich value to those with interest in it.
I mean really Boxing, isn't this exactly what the Nazi's did - to invent a new social meme based on Norse mythology?
