This must have been a hard decision for the administration, having to pick only one option...

Is it overly cynical to think that what swayed them might have been that the environment impact analysis found it would seriously harm the local environment so they responded "Yes! Let's do it then!"?

"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

This isn't really a 'thank you' to Donald Trump who has consistently resisted renewables. This is a thank you to those he appointed who have the insight and wisdom to act for the good of the country in spite of the fact it might irk the president. Now - if this is Donald Trumps idea, and he is 100% behind it and pushing his people to support it when otherwise they would not, then perhaps we can thank him.

As for the potential environmental impact - anything we do to generate electricity will have some sort if impact on the land it is built on and the environment around it. The questions have to be which is the worse or the better impact - dependence on oil and its impact on the environment and self- sufficiency of the US, or in this case the construction of the solar panels and their long term effect shading that large area of land. Someone isn't going to be happy no matter what you do, but we need to be moving towards reducing our dependence on fossil fuels for power.

To me it reads like someone with TDS to be honest :D. I hope we can still be friends ;).

There is no such thing as TDS.

Donald Trump just came off a rant against wind turbines. He has done more to undermine the work of the EPA than any president before him. He doesnt believe in global warming and has done what he can to reverse policies that would reduce carbon emissions.

This solar farm is not Trump's idea, and he did not push for it or ask for it. And his policies are the antithesis of what this project is all about. So there is literally nothing to thank him for here.

If you want to be friends, and I'm good with that, dont join those that poison the well and avoid real discussion by ascribing mental illness to those that have different opinions than their own.

Not the least little bit, Jim -- I think you're projecting.

You have allowed Satan to steal your joy over POLITICS, and you are consumed with your hatred of Trump.

I pray that the Lord will restore unto you the joy of your salvation.

Has Trump actively blocked renewables (as opposed to removing subsidies or something else which actually interferes with private business)? Just wondering.

Thanking you once again, innumerate reporters:

Power comes in watts, and energy comes in watt-hours, not whatever this two-dollar-three-ninety-nine was supposed to be.
