  • Obama, Trump Tie as Most Admired Man in 2019

Interesting, even with all the bad press for Trump....

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Barack Obama and Donald Trump are tied this year as the most admired man. It is Obama's 12th time in the top spot versus the first for Trump.

And this despite the liberal media doing everything in its power to prop Obama up and tear Trump down.

You didn't link the below version, which shows

          1) Obama *still* got more votes than Trump did

          2) You have to go back until *1980* to find the last time the current president lost to someone who wasn't the incoming president. And that only happened to Carter once, unlike Trump who has managed it 3/3 times!

          3) Tired of all the winning yet?

Little guy at the edge of the stage - being upstaged by Trump. Sometimes the optics knock out candidates. Sad.

Well, it was partly that and partly that Rand did little to distinguish himself. It's like he wasn't prepared for the hard-hitting atmosphere of a national campaign. Too bad, because I think he would make a good president, and he wouldn't be anywhere near as controversial as Trump.

I remember Rand was doing pretty good against Hillary in the polls during the Spring just before Trump announced he was running in June. Here was this genuine guy I admired climbing in the polls, who could actually present a challenge to Hillary, and along comes this bombastic buffoon who totally took all the spotlight away from him. I used to really resent Trump for that, and for a moment, I actually thought it was a Clinton ploy to get Trump running for that very reason.

Worth noting for the US conservatives here that internationally, jokes about Trump and getting enjoyment out of Trump's over-the-top-crazy are commonplace. But this doesn't actually translate at all into a love of Trump.

As Pew's headline puts it: .

Their polling found a -43% confidence in Trump in Italy (70% said they had no confidence in him, 27% said they had confidence) and -36% in Japan (66 N.C. v 30 C.). The European average was -64% (82 NC v 18 C). (See pg 32 of their in-depth pdf for more details)

And Pew wryly notes that majorities of people in many of the US's European allies were ticking the most anti-Trump box Pew was offering among the anti-Trump options:

69% of French, Germans and Spanish; 56% of Swedes; and roughly half of Dutch and Greeks say they have no confidence at all in Trump. [Italics in original]

Meanwhile, Trump is quietly accumulating a substantial list of tangible accomplishments, the effects of which will continue to have a positive impact for decades.

And the funniest part of this is that I suspect you genuinely actually believe that.
