Apologetics 301 Guidelines

If you think this is the area where you tell everyone you are sorry for eating their lunch out of the fridge, it probably isn't the place for you

This forum is open discussion between atheists and all theists to defend and debate their views on religion or non-religion. Please respect that this is a Christian-owned forum and refrain from gratuitous blasphemy. VERY wide leeway is given in range of expression and allowable behavior as compared to other areas of the forum, and moderation is not overly involved unless necessary. Please keep this in mind. Atheists who wish to interact with theists in a way that does not seek to undermine theistic faith may participate in the World Religions Department. Non-debate question and answers and mild and less confrontational discussions can take place in General Theistics.

Old man can navigate internet, also upload slick videos, tell overgrown young men to clean room of theirs. Great engagement!!!

He sounds like Hitchens 2.0, attacks fellow progs, also third-wave feminism. Has better moral system, also hip father figure. Yuge appeal to lost agnostic/atheists males online.

I didn't want to continue in this thread, but you are so wrong here.

MacArthur does not disengage people who are earnestly searching for the truth. He preaches scripture and only scripture. He preaches truth, and since you aren't interested in truth, you disengage yourself.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is not banal. It is the most important thing there is.

Sounds like you think church is supposed to be all about entertainment or something.

Demi checked patreon of his: taking 10k-20k monthly from part-time videos to lost agnostics online. How can demi get on gravy train???

                    Churches are about:
                    1. Worshiping God
                    2. Fellowship with other Christians
                    3. Spreading the Gospel
                    4. Teaching morals and life lessons and the teachings of Jesus (sermons)

If you want intellectually stimulating, you should go to a seminary. Although most churches do usually have more in-depth bible studies in small groups or on Wednesdays.

I am talking about sermons during the church service, not online speeches or lessons. You are not going to see a church preaching about evolution and detailed apologetics during the main sermon. They might have a guest speaker, or an extra curricular class like I mentioned before.

The sermon I pointed whag to was a sermon preached in church. 99.9% of the sermons on the gty site are Sunday morning and evening sermons. The few others might be from seminars or college graduations or such. MacArthur preaches the whole of scripture. Sometimes that includes talking about creation, and he does go into detailed apologetics.

His message is clear. whag doesn't want to hear it.

I don't want to hear it because he is not a Christian preacher, and therefore what he preaches is not important to me.
