Part of the problem is that films in general are often trite, disingenuous, predictable, and overall poorly thought out and made. Movies are always about making the audience feel good. The story, whether it's fighting aliens or solving a murder, always involves lots of drama, coincidences and the like...and usually have varying degrees of language, sex, and violence. Why? Because we like that....and continue to pay for those. So, when you get a film like this that at least has some Christian values and pushes back against the aggressive "God-Haters", then it's going to play well with it's target audience...i.e. Christians. The formula remains the same, the only difference is the genre...
I expect this to be recommended at my church, and my wife will definitely want to go see it....and I'll probably like it as well..."What has the Church gained if it is popular, but there is no conviction, no repentance, no power?" - A.W. Tozer
"... there are two parties in Washington, the stupid party and the evil party, who occasionally get together and do something both stupid and evil, and this is called bipartisanship." - Everett Dirksen
