Lobby Guidelines

You've made it through the revolving doors and now you can mingle and mill about. If you feel like spamming, please head down the hall to the right to the RecRoom. But, if you'd like to meet people, chat about nothing in particular, you know...have polite conversation that doesn't seem to fit easily into any of the other rooms, this is the place!

The Lobby is not for serious debates, there are other areas for those types of conversations. It is more for relaxed chatting or discussing things that don't fit elsewhere. Politics, religion and philosophy have their own place on the site

But remember, always play by the rules: here

Why is everybody doing emoticons instead of similes? Or even metaphors?
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Remember when we had vast collections of custom smilies? Is that still a thing, or is it just a fond memory?

There are still a lot. You have to access them through the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the reply box. Then they smilies are along the right side of the box on that page, and if you click "more" it will open them all up.

Yes, I saw those. In the old days, didn't we each have a way to save our own custom smilie collection? I think I still have a bunch of them saved somewhere.

I remember that, but we haven't had that option for ages. One of the updates that was done quite a few years ago did away with that feature. I miss it. I had a LOT of them.

Yes, we did. No, it's not a thing anymore.
