Lobby Guidelines

You've made it through the revolving doors and now you can mingle and mill about. If you feel like spamming, please head down the hall to the right to the RecRoom. But, if you'd like to meet people, chat about nothing in particular, you know...have polite conversation that doesn't seem to fit easily into any of the other rooms, this is the place!

The Lobby is not for serious debates, there are other areas for those types of conversations. It is more for relaxed chatting or discussing things that don't fit elsewhere. Politics, religion and philosophy have their own place on the site

But remember, always play by the rules: here

I personally thought it was kind of boring. Just not my style I guess.

It's a gateway drug to the style of board games I love.

        Agreed OP

Love the resource management and expansion aspects of the game.

It's best with the expansions like Cities and Knights or Seafarers that add a bit more strategic planning. I haven't played with traders and barbarians yet. If you want a game that is Settlers-ish crossed with sabre-rattling or even combat, try Scythe. Excellent excellent excellent.

I'm going to try introducing my ten year old stepdaughter to Carcassonne, which is sort of Catan lite.

I used to play board games with friends all the time but the invites completely stopped once I got kids.

Burn the witch. I mean it. Literally. That card is no fun unless you like long boring games. It's like they sat around wondering what card they could add that would make their perfectly reasonable game suck.
