Oh, they were awesome back in the day. My parents then moved us to the Midwest from the East Coast where the football-jock culture didn't take too kindly to East Coast city dwellers. I never compromised. I HATED high school.

Hehe, I have owned the Iron Rangers too. I love cap toe boots! But the IR last forever! They only problem is the smooth sole, not good for my winters.

Good choice but they are making IRs with lug soles now, but lugs track and hold too much snow/mud.

I have lived in Texas all my life and I do not own nor do I like cowboy/cowgirl boots. They were super popular among girls in high school. Well, college too. Especially for football games. Not me.

I think I quit wearing cowboy boots when my parents split up. Maybe? I went country/western dancing sometimes in high school, but I'm pretty sure I was wearing my Georgia workboots to those.

At one of the border crossings in south Texas, they had a sheet with pictures and descriptions of various materials leather could be made from so the agents could tell which sorts were legal or not. That was pretty interesting.
