            Saudi Arabia opened the spigots on full to drop the price so Russia cant compete. The BRICS Reserve Currency is persona non grata to the West and we are gearing up for WW3 of the 'Mideast Pivot'.

            Another factor may be Lockheed Martin's add for their Fusion Reactor.

                        Kinda like when there's trouble in the Middle East, gas prices sky rocket immediately, but take forever to calm back down.

                              To be (somewhat) fair, the "summer blends" are probably mandated by dates that are inclusive of, and not coterminous with, summer - and because our refineries are operating so close to capacity, providing all those blends is bound to make prices increase across the board (gas probably has to be trucked farther in most instances).
