$1.58 near my house but they weren't open yet when I went to work early this morning and had to put a few dollars in the tank at a place near where I work ($1.65) before filling up after getting home.

I was going to a Shell station and then one day it had a different name. It turns out the owners wanted to get their gasoline supply from some other company. Also interestingly, there is a gasoline pipeline and distribution center less than a block away from these guys. They could almost get a supply of gasoline without using a tanker truck. Anyhow, how has this myth been created viz. that gasoline is available for less that 2 bucks?
