What do you all think about globalization? It seems to me that it may be the most effective way to reduce poverty in the developing world. After all, extreme poverty rates have been on the decline in a major way over the past few decades. I can't think of how that would happen without sending jobs overseas, where they could be done cheaply. Outsourcing would provide an economic stimulus to the region, helping it grow and thrive.
The Economist has a good article on the matter: http://www.economist.com/news/leader...rld-would-hurt
It seems like America sending jobs to China has helped them a lot and allowed them to become the second largest economy in the world.
I'm not an expert on this; if someone has better information on the effects of globalization on the developing world, let me know.
